Gasoline for boats and vehicles is available on the west side of the island next to the new concrete municipal peir

Caye Caulker's police station is open 24 hours a day with 12 officers assigned to the Caye. Each shift has no less than 2 officers on duty. The island also has 2 Tourist Police officers trained to work with tourists and special needs.

The basketball court is located on Front Street and is the place where festivals, pageants and island events take place. Plus, you can pick up a game from time to time with the local guys. Caye Caulker has a free health clinic operated by the government of Belize and staffed by Cuban doctors. It operates on a donation basis and is there for you if you become injured or sick.
Caye Caulker's elementary school is operated by the Roman Catholic Church. For high school, children ride the water taxi to San Pedro every morning to attend classes.

Rent a golf cart and tour the island in "Go Slow" style.
You'll see stacks of lobster traps around the island as fishermen from the Northern Fishermen's Co-op prepare for lobster season. Lobster season is June 15 to the following February 15.
